Transportation Customer Program Specialist

Primary Function / Primary Goals / Objectives:

Support and assist the execution of transportation supply chain processes that meet and/or exceed customer expectations and Abbott Nutrition Supply Chain goals and objectives. The Transportation Customer Program Specialist serves as the primary contact for transportation service improvement for multiple large customers who have established buying relationships with the company. Functional responsibilities include conducting proactive problem resolution to improve on-time delivery, implement cost savings programs and maintain performance measurements for customer specific reporting. Supporting activities include analytics, coordination, and communication of financial and customer specific carrier performance data. Emphasis will be on team collaboration to understand root cause analysis and develop operational tactics to improve on-time delivery while maintaining the cost profile. This position will have exposure to both external and internal customers and will need to maintain a high level of customer service across multiple verticals. Skills necessary include: strong communication, presentation, and analytical skills. Attention to detail and being self-motivated will complement this position.

Major Responsibilities:

Use of systems to understand real time situations and proactively execute changes to meet customer PO must arrive by dates. Improve delivery performance and meet customer expectations. Support Transportation Planning Team with projects that meet customer service needs and cost requirements reducing fines associated with transportation execution. Pull and organize large data files for both financial and operational metrics and performance reporting development. Must interact effectively with Third Party Providers, Quality Assurance, Customer Service Operations, Global purchasing, Finance, Customer DC Operations, Carrier Operations and Sales Management, and Division Logistics teams. Conduct business with the highest standards of ethical behavior and in compliance with company rules and procedures.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

Transportation Management System user Utilize real time freight management software to proactively execute changes and support transportation planners. Coordinate root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives facilitating changes needed to support customer fine reduction programs. Serve as the center of expertise for large customer requirements Attend and communicate customer specific information during carrier operational meetings Proactive communication with cross functional teams to support customer programs and promotions. Develop and report daily/weekly/monthly customer scorecards and monitor overall performance against scorecard goals and expectations. Meet periodically with divisional customers and support functions to ensure customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. Understand and improve processes and procedures maintaining the quality system. Support department with projects and assignments as necessary.
