Primary Job Function
This position’s primary role is to support successful customer education programs. There is significant travel (up to 60%) which can include weekends (estimated one weekend every 3-4 months) to support courses and conferences.
There are significant physician and customer interactions. This includes involvement with key opinion leader (KOL) faculty and participants.
Core Job Responsibilities
Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
Product and Technical Expertise for Customer Training Programs
Instruct physicians on the use of our devices. Set up, run, troubleshoot, and break down all types of simulation equipment and demo units.
Responsible for the inventory management of simulation equipment, demo devices, and supplies needed to support customer training programs.
Physician and Customer Program Management
Collaborates with management to create program curriculum, agendas, faculty selection, logistics plans, communications, and all aspects needed to successfully run customer programs. Manages proposals, budgets, projects and logistics for all participants and faculty.
Organizes and facilitates program planning meetings to ensure that all parties involved are properly informed and contributing, as necessary, to assure program success.
Attends events as needed to ensure that details associated with participants, lodging, equipment needs, guest speakers and agendas, supplies and documentation are attended to and that problems are corrected.
Evaluates the effectiveness of programs by soliciting participant feedback and formulation recommendations to determine successes and areas of improvement, which will be used to improve subsequent program effectiveness.
Ensure all appropriate documentation related to the program (facility, faculty, participants) have been obtained and retained in compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
Physician/Site Contracting and Vendor Development
Will acquire needed documentation for the submission of both physician faculty contracts and site training contracts. Will work with KOL customers, hospital site contacts, Abbott OEC and legal departments to ensure contracts are completed in a timely fashion. Monitors contract status for annual renewal as needed.
Will generate vendor agreements in compliance with Abbott policies. Provides direction to third party vendors by meeting to incorporate ideas, goals, and budget and to ensure vendor and faculty fulfills requirements for the final product/service in compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
Curriculum Development and Routing
Will facilitate new content development (curriculum, skills assessments, labs, documentation, etc.). Will support the A&P routing (advertising and promotion) of content developed by both Abbott, physician, and customer subject matter experts in a timely fashion thru multiple reviewers (regulatory, legal, clinical, marcom, engineering, etc.). This ability requires knowledge of the Abbott policies and procedures, time management, communication, and negotiation skills.
As needed, will also create new content in support of customer education.
Archives all documents and records pertaining to program, vendors, and faculty (e.g., contracts, agreements, correspondence, invoices, documentation) by maintaining secure files to ensure program/project information remains confidential and is available for future reference within training department systems.
Ensures documentation for participant training records are completed correctly, filed securely and confidentially in training department systems, and available for future reference in compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.

An understanding both technical (mechanical, electronic, and computer-based) aspects of simulators and the clinical applications of our medical devices.
Experience traveling and time management.
