The WIC Associate Manager is responsible for assisting in WIC state execution to support Abbott Nutrition’s commercial objectives.

Contract Bid Process:

  • Manage the logistics of the WIC contract bid process for infant formula with oversight from the WIC Sr. Manager.
  • Lead and/or support all aspects of the contract bid process/bid submission.
  • Lead the ITB procurement notification, bid package submissions and contract maintenance for select states.
  • Attend bid openings as needed (select states)

State Communication/Support:

  • Point of contact for select Abbott contract states.
  • Via direct engagement with WIC state decision makers and/or state capital reps, secure Abbott WIC eligibility on appropriate new items.
  • Analyze Nielsen trends and results and propose/implement commercial recommendation with quantified WIC business impact.
  • Communicate packaging/product changes for both infant formulas as well as other WIC eligible Abbott products.
  • Participate in National WIC Association (NWA) as needed
  • Network with WIC state key decision makers
  • Complete HCP sales training and be well versed in selling/detailing Abbott products

WIC Contracts:

  • Review WIC invoices for accuracy (select states). 
  • Process WIC invoices and payments (select states).
  • Be well versed in contract compliance and terms and conditions to properly advise/support the commercial organization.

Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 5 years’ experience on behalf of a food, pharmaceutical manufacturer or distributor is required. Experience with WIC is preferred.
