Job Description:
The Translational Immunology Department is committed to advancing the pipeline through the investigation of patient-derived tissue and clinical biomarker identification. We are seeking a highly talented and motivated scientist to join our team focused on assay development, optimization, and execution of cell based high throughput functional assays. The successful candidate will have experience with cell handing, quantification of cytokines (ELISA and/or Luminex experience) and a demonstrated ability to design, execute, troubleshoot, and interpret experiments with limited supervision. The candidate should play an active role in communicating and collaborating with scientists across Abbvie to advance projects contributing and participating in a team environment.
QualificationsKey Responsibilities:
- Maintain a high level of productivity in the laboratory
- Execute and interpret critical experiments to answer scientific questions
- Perform immunoassays
- Handling of patient samples for inclusion in clinical trials
- Work effectively with a team in a matrix environment
- Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, controlled drugs and radioactive compounds
Qualifications:
Position will be hired based on level of experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in immunology, biology or related field with typically 0-3+ (BS) years of experience, or 0+ (MS) years of experience
Strong scientific foundation in the understanding and implementation of a wide range of cell-based assays and readouts (ELISA, Luminex, MSD)
Ability to work with multidisciplinary groups in a fast-paced discovery team setting
Effectively communicate cross-functionally with team members throughout the organization
Able to analyze and critically interpret and report data and research conclusions
Familiarity with assay technologies, automation, and high throughput screening approaches highly desired
