Global Private Markets Operations is a specialist operational partner providing expertise and support to the Private Markets’ asset classes and Investment teams whilst leveraging a number of services from the rest of Operations.  Global Private Markets Operations supports all alternative and real estate asset classes whilst recognising the differences in execution and specialism across different asset classes, clients, geographies and systems.  We also support emerging new asset classes and new products combining different Private Markets and/or traditional asset classes.  By bringing these and related activities together, we work together on common initiatives enabling us to become more scalable, efficient and consistent globally.

Role Purpose

Reporting to the Fund Control Senior Manager – Private Equity (“FCSM”) in the US, this role carries responsibility for fund control of existing and new funds/segregated mandates.

The Private Markets – US investment team manage a number of fund of fund alternative investment vehicles, investing in private equity funds, venture capital, real assets as well as direct  private credit and private equity through pooled vehicles and dedicated segregated client mandates.

A third party administrator (“TPA”) has been appointed to administer the funds and segregated mandates.  A key part of the role will be assisting the FCSM in managing the relationship with the TPA and overseeing their deliverables. 

The successful candidate will work closely with other Private Markets Operations teams worldwide, the Investment teams and other relevant teams to achieve our goals of excellent service, scalability, efficiency and global consistency. 

Key Outcomes

• Management of third party administrators – day to day liaison with the TPA to ensure that outsourced services are being delivered in a timely manner; highlighting any service weaknesses timeously to the FCSM;
• Investor DD / Investor queries – co-ordinate and respond to operational DD requests and also act as conduit between Client Service team, Investment team and TPA;
• Investment team liaison –providing assistance to the investment directors and wider team on finance related tasks relating to fund products;
• Co-ordination of valuation process  - Assist the FCSM with co-ordinating the valuation process and preparation of associated papers for valuation committee. Review direct investment valuations prepared in house and provide related support to Investment team;
• Treasury management – act as intermediary between TPA and investment team to ensure  appropriate monitoring of cash balances across products to ensure that optimal level of cash is held in each fund;
• Team Support - work with colleagues in the European PE & Infrastructure EMEA operations and reporting teams to support general operation of the US business and US Tax Manager; and
• Provide general assistance to the FCSM to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the US Private Market business including provision of cover.

Key Knowledge/Experience/Qualifications

• Preferable: Experience of private equity operations ideally having worked in a similar role overseeing a TPA
• Good technical skills with up to date knowledge of current accounting practices and standards
• Strong management skills with the ability to plan and organise a workload
