ABRIGO Cybersecurity Analyst Salary in the United States

The Cybersecurity Analyst works as a member of the Information Security Team and monitors and investigates anomalous network activity and alerts, while participating in threat detection and mitigation strategies. This role performs real-time monitoring of internal security systems (IPS, firewalls, etc) and manages the corporate SIEM and other information security controls. 

This position will use security tools to conduct regular vulnerability scans and assessments and track discovered vulnerabilities to closure. This role ensures that information security metric trending dashboards are maintained and available to leadership. This position is expected to work closely with other teams to assist in assessing risk and provide recommendations for improving security posture.

What You'll Do: 

• Oversees the day-to-day monitoring of network traffic for security events and perform first tier analysis
• Analyze both raw and processed security event data to identify potential security incidents, threats and vulnerabilities
• Manages corporate security information and event management system (SIEM), including responding to all alerts and investigations
• Oversee network vulnerability scans, penetration testing, and perform basic forensics and threat analysis
• Verification of system patch processes and reporting
• Respond in real time to cyber security events
• Analyzes threat and vulnerability feeds for applicability to the organization
• Assist with researching new technologies required to effectively protect the organization’s data and assets
• Conduct regularly scheduled social engineering exercises to test effectiveness of security awareness training

What You'll Need: 

• Completion of an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Network Security, Computer Science or Information Technology preferred
• 2-3 years of related cybersecurity work experience
• Knowledge of various security methodologies and processes, and technical security solutions (firewall and intrusion detection systems).
• Knowledge of TCP/IP Protocols, network analysis, and network/security applications.
• Knowledge of common Internet protocols and applications
• Strong collaborative communication skills to engage with peers and promote information security initiatives
• Knowledge of information security best practices, including those regarding general data protections, access management, incident response, configuration management, and system resiliency
• Experience with Microsoft 365 Security and Compliance tools
• Experience with Microsoft Azure security solutions
• Experience with SIEM solutions. Rapid 7 experience a plus.
