Abrigo is seeking an experienced attorney to join our fast-growing software business that is driving innovation in the Financial Technology space. We are looking for someone who can build collaborative and influential relationships with strategic business partners to balance client growth and governance.  The Director of Legal will be responsible for developing and maintaining all standard sales contract elements including NDA, Master Sales Agreements, Amendments, and Consulting agreements. It will also provide initial legal counsel and review for all other corporate matters.  The role will require a team centric leader to manage a team of contract and vendor administrators to operationalize the work.

This position is responsible for the technology solutions, vendor relationships, outside counsel spend and rate tracking, special projects, and helps build the Legal Department strategy, structure, and culture. This position will be based in Austin, TX or Raleigh, NC and report to the VP, Corporate Development.

 

What You'll Do: 

  • Manage day-to-day corporate legal operations requirements, including matter management, document management, and reporting.
  • Manage a team of Legal Operations professionals, providing guidance, coaching and mentoring to ensure their continued growth within legal operations and support of the department. Direct and indirect reports typically include 1-3 Contract and Vendor Administrators
  • Maintain and manage all intellectual property for Abrigo with USPTO.
  • Facilitate and drive cross-functional relationships (such as with Technology, Finance, Human Resources, and strategic business partners), providing overall leadership and cohesiveness for Legal Department projects and stakeholder management.
  • Responsible for the legal department workflow and performance as well as client satisfaction with both internal and external parties.
  • Represent the company during contract negotiations and interpretations with vendors, business partners, and other legal matters as needed.
  • Coordinate and provide support for outside counsel partners to ensure Abrigo’s interests and objectives are being served. This will include legal project scoping, budgets, and deliverable tracking.

 

What You'll Need: 

  • Graduation from an accredited law school with a JD or LLB degree.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as an attorney; preferred experience negotiating software license and/or SaaS, consulting and non-disclosure agreements is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills – must love contracts and be able to explain them to the rest of us.
  • Excellent customer service (internal and external) and interpersonal skills to facilitate successful interaction with management, staff and third parties.
  • Sound and balanced business judgment and keen strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of motivation and desire to learn & teach.
  • Flexible, collaborative, and willing to work on a broad variety of matters with a team-player attitude.
  • Team oriented and enjoys working closely with other employees to achieve results.
  • Exceptional time management skills; prioritization in managing multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Salesforce required.
