What does a HR Generalist do at companies like ACCEL SCHOOLS?

Early Learning Academies is seeking an experienced human resources professional to provide administration and consultation to its network of early childhood education centers. The Senior HR Generalist works collaboratively with center directors and functional teams such as payroll and accounting to address all areas from recruiting and onboarding to termination. This position is remote (Arizona or Oklahoma resident preferred) with approximately 25% travel required to site centers.

Responsibilities

  • Process New Hire paperwork, including offer letter generation and entry into HRIS
  • Process paperwork for employees who are off-boarding
  • Create and maintain personnel files
  • Respond to claims for unemployment, workers’ compensation, disability, and leaves of absence
  • Advise supervisors and staff on employee relations matters
  • Develop policies and handbooks that are compliant with federal, state and local laws
  • Develop processes and supporting documentation for onboarding, performance management, off-boarding and other functions
  • For existing business and potential acquisitions, analyze HR cost structures, turnover rates, benefits programs, and other key areas
  • Conduct FLSA, EEO, and other audits
  • Ensures compliance with all necessary company policies and state/federal regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Resident of Arizona or Oklahoma required 
  • PHR or SPHR certification or completion of relevant certificate program preferred
  • 5-7 years’ human resources experience, including onboarding, employee relations, and compensation
  • Experience with at least one HRIS, preferably UltiPro
  • Experience with a licensed, distributed workforce
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong time management skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time
