Project Hope is a program that provides free crisis counseling services to persons, families, and groups most affected by COVID-19. Project Hope is funded by the Federal Emergency and Management Agency (FEMA) and is administered by (the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) in conjunction with NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. The Crisis Counseling Assistance and Training Program (CCP) aims to provide immediate behavioral health support, primarily relying on face-to-face contacts with survivors in their communities over a specific period of time. Provided services will be culturally and linguistically competent and include outreach and engagement in community settings; education and training; assessment and referral to mental health and substance abuse programs.
Job Summary:
The Project Coordinator is responsible for the oversight of the Crisis Counseling Program (CCP) team members and activities at the provider level. They may also provide clinical supervision to CCP outreach team. This is a non-direct services position. The incumbent will provide administrative support to the Project Hope Crisis Counseling Team. This is a grant-funded position with an anticipated total duration of nine (6) months.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college plus two (2) years of professional experience preferred
Project Coordinator must have 1 year of experience in administrative/program management.
Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse staff and populations, as well as honor contributions and strengths of all cultures
Ability to manage people and resolve conflict
Ability to work cohesively in a team aligned with the programs goals, objectives and outcomes
Ability to demonstrate positive regard and be respectful towards others
Able to meet tight deadlines and work in an unpredictable environment
Knowledge of basic computer skills and statistical data required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work nights and weekends as needed
Ability to work remotely with consistent access to Wi-Fi and the ability to HIPAA protected conversation with others
Responsibilities:
· Ensure adequate and appropriate staffing and training for the Crisis Counseling Program
· Comply with federal, state and local reporting requirements
· Build rapport with fellow team members and supervisors understanding the importance of representing Henry Street positively at all times
· Conduct fiscal tracking and monitoring
· Serve as a liaison to other pandemic services agencies to ensure non‐duplication of services
· Organize outreach activities and guide the outreach teams in their outreach planning and service delivery
· Regularly conduct site visits to providers, and provide direct observation and supervision of Crisis Counselors to ensure appropriate service delivery
· Other related duties as assigned
