The Material and Logistics Specialist is responsible for maintaining a high level of inventory accuracy and integrity within the facility. Perform material handling and logistic activities which aren’t limited to shipping, receiving, material handling, and inventory control.

Essential Functions:

  • Inventory control activities which include but not limited to: cycle counting, adjustments, tracking, reporting, reconciliation and root cause analysis.
  • Receiving activities which include but not limited to: Unloading, quantity verification, labeling and systematic transactions.
  • Material handling activities which includes but not limited to: picking, receiving, shipping, preparing, tagging, systematic transactions and distributing material throughout the plant.
  • Shipping activities which include but not limited to: prepare products, shipping documents, match/verify out going quantity, labeling, quoting/carrier selection, loading freight and systematic transactions.
  • Cross functionally communicate document omissions, quantity discrepancies and miscellaneous errors.
  • Operate various types of material handling equipment in a safe manor.
  • Participate in cross functional teams and continuous improvement activities.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean, safe and organized work place.

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED. 
  • Three or more years’ experience related in material handling (shipping, receiving, cycle counting, stockroom, material handling, etc.).
  • Demonstrated proficiency intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office/ ERP)
  • Excellent written and communication skills for interacting cross functionally.
  • Must be willing to work OT and weekends when required.
  • Able to read and understand material/production related documents (BOM, blueprints, attribute sheets, material and model lists).

Preferred:

  • Ability to convert to and from the metric system.
  • Previous experience with Oracle/JDE software.
  • Fork truck and powered material handling equipment experience.

Physical Demand:

  • Frequent periods of sitting, standing and walking.
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs.

Responsibility of Equipment

  • Responsible for daily safety inspection and battery maintenance of material handling equipment.
