Purpose:

Perform tasks involving physical labor at project sites, primarily the manual dig-out of individual pits to prepare project site prior to survey. Due to this project's timeline, this position has quick advancement potential for high-performing employees. 

Crucial Functions:

• Clean and prepare sites; remove rubble, debris, and other waste materials
• Dig pits using hand tools
• Document cleaned pits using a provided handheld device
• Train for advancement into other project roles (Installer, Surveyor, etc.)

Additional Responsibilities:

• Optimally connect with Supervisors and Peers
• Observe, receive, and otherwise acquire information from all relevant sources
• Monitor and review information from materials, events, or the environment to detect or assess problems
• May assist other craft workers, as needed

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Required:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability to perform general physical activities, requiring considerable use of arms and legs and whole-body movement, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
• Ability to coordinate, plan, and prioritize work

Preferred:

• 1 year or more of general labor experience

Physical Demand:

• Tools: May operate hand or power tools of all types, including shovels, air hammers, earth tampers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments.
• Handling and Moving Objects: Using hands and arms in handling, positioning, and moving materials
• Considerable Use of Body: Climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, crouching, and stooping
• Outdoor Working Environment: Perform outdoor tasks in all weather conditions
