More and more clients are requesting services beyond the cash basis statements supported by our bookkeepers.  We are rolling out nationwide a controller services offering as a complement to our bookkeeping offering. So we're aggressively building our controller team and are looking for smart, ambitious people who want to help us revolutionize the accounting industry.  With an offering that has already gained a significant number of clients since launch, a talented team of accounting and technology professionals supporting it, and a passionate entrepreneurial culture, this is a unique opportunity to join a special company.

As part of our Controller team, you would support Acuity clients and your bookkeeping teammates in the performance of their accounting function.  This work is performed remotely for clients across the U.S. (and even some internationally).  This is a chance to help a huge number of entrepreneurs improve their accounting function, as well as playing a role in changing the age-old way that accounting is typically performed.  If you are a traditional Controller who prefers doing things and using systems the same way you always have....this is not the position for you.  If you are interested in revolutionizing the way small accounting departments run, you might make a good team member at Acuity.

Performance Profile (Duties & Responsibilities):

• Utilize an accounting degree from an accredited four year university and significant accounting experience from various industries and firms help solve technical accounting problems with various financial and accounting softwares for Acuity’s clients
•  Good communication skills, both written and verbal, in order to foster and develop a relationship with clients and other Acuity team members to deliver client accounting expectations
• Be able to run the monthly financial statement close process to convert the cash records to an accrual basis or a modified cash basis of accounting, depending on client requirements
• Maintain cash projections and metric dashboards
• Ability and desire to use different technologies efficiently and effectively in order to improve client expectations and processes

Tech Geek: You have experience working within cloud-based accounting systems, specifically QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, and Intaact. You quickly pickup any new systems that are put in front of you and welcome the opportunity to try new accounting technologies.

Degreed: You are a graduate of a 4 year university with a degree in accounting. CPA's preferred.  Beware: a number of our bookkeepers are CPA's and have worked in Big 4 Firms...not your typical bookkeepers...so you need to be comfortable working alongside some real pros.

YOU get to pick your work load.  Current controllers target a schedule of 20-35 hours/week. Please designate your preference in your application.

YOU get to pick your schedule.  We ask that team members participate in 1 team call per week.  We trust you to get the rest of your work done from whatever location is best for you.
