In this role, you’ll be contributing to AHF's mission by providing interactive face-to-face interviews with clients to determine eligibility for public and/or private financial and/or health insurance programs.
Obtaining and maintaining pertinent patient information that is required by county, state, and/ or federal programs as set in the contractual agreements is a major contribution to this role.
As a Benefits Counselor/BSS, your ability to help navigate a patient through the may public assistant programs and private insurance industry is essential to ensure that our healthcare centers receive the maximum reimbursement for services rendered. A Benefits Specialist also assists clients in the completion of benefit applications and makes appropriate referrals for any and all county, state, and/or federal programs.We monitor our patient’s coverage through a number of tools and resources. In addition, we partner up with fellow AHF departments to meet the needs of our patients.
