Program Coordinator (NY)

The Opportunity

All Star Code is seeking an enthusiastic, highly organized, and detail-oriented Program Coordinator to join our growing team.  The Program Coordinator is an integral part of the Program team, partnering with the Program Manager to support key aspects of our programmatic portfolio, including: 

  • Recruitment and program delivery of our 6-week Summer Intensive Program (July 6 - Aug 14), which offers a uniquely transformative experience for our students and instructional staff, where instruction happens across pop-up classrooms hosted at the world's top tech companies
  • Program delivery and support of our year-round Scholar Services, which offers support for our growing community of All Stars in their pursuits of continuing education in technology, entrepreneurship, and 21st century skills, access to mentorship, professional / collegiate skill-building workshops, community-building events, access to internships and full time job opportunities..  

Program Coordinators are responsible for research and outreach to current and new stakeholders; attending in-person recruitment events and Program-run events; managing communications (via email and phone) with existing Scholars, prospective students, and partners; creating, printing, and sending outreach materials to stakeholders; and codifying the SI planning process for scalability. The Programs Coordinator reports directly to the Programs Manager.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must have a BA or BS in Communications, Liberal Arts, or Education; or equivalent work experience
  • may be acceptable
  • Candidates should have professional experience in event planning, coordination and/or logistics 
  • Candidates must have practical knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Gmail
  • Candidates must have the ability to engage with a variety of program stakeholders from corporate partners, funders / VIPs, press/media, parents, community leaders, and/or technology executives
  • Candidates must demonstrate poise, professionalism and exceptional oral and written communication skills 
  • Candidates must have the ability to adapt and be resourceful in program delivery 
  • Candidates must demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Candidates must be willing to provide, accept, and implement feedback in order to better serve the needs of our students

Responsibilities

Student Recruitment and Selection for the Summer Intensive Program

  • Oversee onboarding of SI students, including confirmation of participation, completion of legal forms, creation of cohort assignments, and flagging IEP intakes for our IEP consultant 
  • Partner with the Program Manager to research, conduct and codify an outreach strategy for the Summer Intensive to new stakeholders, including educational institutions (public, private and charter schools), nonprofits, Alumni ambassadors, and parents
  • Execute and analyze in-person recruitment engagements (e.g. conferences, fairs, and in-school demonstrations)
  • Coordinate monthly Readathons for rolling admissions 
  • Coordinate printing of outreach materials, communicating with new stakeholders via email and phone, and serving as liaison for applicants

Program Management for the Summer Intensive Program

  • Plan, coordinate and schedule site visits, guest speakers and SI student events
  • Maintain infrastructure for Onsite Coordinators: playbooks, templates, Gdrive resources, etc.
  • Serve as first point of contact for Onsite Coordinators and up to 5 Summer Intensive cohorts
  • Develop Orientation and Demo Day materials for Onsite Coordinators
  • Analyze program evaluation report and implement changes in partnership with program team

Scholar Engagement

  • Partner with Scholar Services Manager to create and execute outreach strategies for 600+ Scholar community
  • Attend Scholar events
  • Assist in planning, implementation, and delivery of annual surveys, as well as updating Scholar database 
  • Collect data from partners (job opportunities, continuing education opportunities, contact info) for scholar portal

Program Administration 

  • Update database information for students, families and educational partners
  • Codify best practices through playbook creation with Program Manager 
  • Attend Professional Development opportunities and assist Program Manager in creating calendar, administering evaluation instruments, and refining program

Location / Compensation

All Star Code is a great place to work - our offices are at 85 WeWork in the Financial District in Manhattan; we share common space with some of the newest and most cutting-edge startups in the city.  Salary is competitive and All Star Code offers a comprehensive benefits package for all full-time employees. The salary for this role is $48,000 annually.
