Currently we are hiring a Teller for our New Madrid branch. Working as a Teller in this branch allows you time to enjoy meeting our many customers and servicing their banking requests. Besides providing the basic cash transactions, you will record loan payments, process the sale of various bank instruments, and assist customers with their banking questions. This position requires flexibility toward schedule changes and Saturday hours.

It is important that you display excellent customer service, communicate clearly, and demonstrate accuracy in handling monetary transactions when entering information into databases or software programs.

Essential Functions 

• Processes customer transactions including deposits, loan payments, checking/savings withdrawals and cashing checks in accordance with bank procedures.
• Counts and prepares currency, coins, and checks for shipment to the Federal Reserve Bank.
• Balances personal cash drawer daily.
• Responds to customers’ needs in various ways while cross-selling bank products and services
• Assist in opening and closing the branch, following established security procedures.
• Counting, filling, balancing, auditing, and ordering monies for the cash vault, ATM, and TCD.
• Answering incoming telephone calls as needed.
• Comply with all departmental and company policies, procedures and regulations.

Qualifications

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma or equivalent is required
• Six months to one year experience in cash handling and customer service preferred
• Strong math and problem solving skills.
• Must be able to work flexible schedules and Saturdays.
• Able to learn bank products and services to explain to customers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.  The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms.  This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds.
