We are seeking a Full-Time Medical Biller

The Company: Adjuvant.Health was formed by the Partner Physicians and Executive team of Allied Physicians Group, the largest independent pediatric medical supergroup in the country. We support over 150 caring physicians who provide the highest quality healthcare and exceptional service to over 180,000 patients throughout the New York State. The administrative and operational support provided by Adjuvant.Health allows practicing physicians to focus on patient care.

• We currently support 34 physician practices located throughout Long Island, Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island as well as Westchester and Orange Counties.

Preferred Qualifications for Ideal Candidates:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certificates, licenses and registrations required:
  • CCS-P or CPC certification a plus.
• Must have a minimum of five years of experience with medical billing
• Pediatric of Primary Care billing experience preferred
• Experience with GE Centricity preferred but not required
• High level of organization and attention to detail
• Customer service skills with both patients and insurance representatives
• Experience with modifiers
• Other skills required:

• Pediatric or Primary Care Billing Experience preferred.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Record Systems required, Centricity and Phreesia preferred.
• Knowledge of business and accounting processes.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Knowledge of insurance guidelines including HMO/PPO, [ Link Removed ] , [ Link Removed ] , and other payer requirements and systems.
• Knowledge of medical terminology likely to be encountered in medical claims.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

Position Responsibilities:

• Answers patient calls and answers billing questions.
• Prepares and reviews claims for electronic billing submission.
• Investigates claims denied by insurance plans.
• Identifies, corrects and resubmits incorrect claims.
• Reviews remittance advice for payment errors, denials and under payments.
• Maintains patient confidentiality as per the [ Link Removed ] ).
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

The Location: The Medical Biller will work at our Home Office in Melville, NY. Melville is a suburb of New York City located in Suffolk County.

The office is in Huntington Quadrangle, a business park conveniently located near several restaurants and other entertainment venues.
