Description

ACHS Admissions Advisors brings passion and enthusiasm for higher education and integrative health and wellness demonstrated by their positive interactions with prospective students and ACHS team members. Advisors are responsible for achieving enrollment objectives by ethically guiding prospective students through the application process to enrollment at American College of Healthcare Sciences. Advisors evaluate eligibility for admission in coordination with the Admissions Committee, represent ACHS at industry events, and are responsible for meeting institutional performance and enrollment goals. Advisors work closely with other Advisors, the Associate Dean of Admissions, and the Dean of Admissions to qualify and enroll prospective students. All ACHS team members demonstrate a commitment to excellence in contributing to a positive workplace and goal attainment.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop an ongoing relationship with the prospective student from enrollment through graduation via telephone, email, or in-person and use effective follow-up procedures to communicate criteria for admission.
  • Evaluate applications for admission based on the prospective student’s qualifications, needs, desires, interests, motivations, and commitments, and assist in the admissions decision making process.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ACHS academic offerings, ACHS policies and procedures, applicable federal and state regulations, accreditation standards, and higher education trends, developments, and resources.
  • Utilize accepted and ethical enrollment practices by presenting information in a factual and ethical manner to prospective students and others regarding the institution’s programs, tuition and fee schedules, refund policy, payment plans, and other College policies and procedures. 
  • Build and cultivate key relationships and partnerships for the development of referral prospects including community-based organizations, alumni, and industry professional organizations.
  • Discuss ACHS funding options including in-house installment programs with prospective students.
  • Contribute to marketing collateral including email messaging and other communications such as letters and text messages.
  • Accurate, organized, and timely completion and updating of all required paperwork, records, student databases, and other reporting tools based on established procedures.
  • Willingness to guide prospective students in completing the admissions process in the most efficient and supportive manner and provide ongoing support as they make important decisions.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and in a professional manner within the Admissions team and departments across the institution.
  • Effectively use work time to produce outstanding results in completing applications, tasks, and managing workflow
  • Ability to communicate clearly with Dean of Admissions and/or Associate Dean of Admissions when support is needed, questions arise, or additional training is required
  • Occasionally represent the institution at conferences or events; evening or weekend hours may be needed on rare occasions. 
  • Attend and actively participate in weekly staff meetings and trainings.
  • Perform 40-60 outbound calls on a daily basis.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred. 
  • 1-3 years of related experience working in higher education admissions role working with post-traditional College students
  • Experience working in a fast-paced office environment
  • Excellent active listening, verbal, and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized.
