ARIES FREIGHT SYSTEMS Domestic Air and Road Supervisor Salary in the United States

Description

A Domestic Air and Road Supervisor is in charge of overseeing the Domestic Air and Road Department when processing a company's transportation, including the most economical and quickest routes for shipping and coordinating freight to and from destination, contracting for common carrier and other transportation facilities, negotiating with carriers for adjustments for damages to cargo, and making the necessary rearrangements resulting from delays, damages, or irregularities in transit. The Domestic Supervisor’s primary duty is the performance of office non-manual work directly related to the management or general business operations. The employee's primary duty must include the exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.

 Specific Job Duties:

• Oversee the Domestic operations to ensure employees are performing at a satisfactory level
• Manage, schedule, supervise and coordinate the shipments of goods domestically and across some international boundaries. Inbound, Outbound and point to point shipments.
• Communicate with transportation companies to monitor the status of shipments incoming and outgoing daily
• Review and rating of completed domestic files
• Interface with carriers, vendors, and fellow employees
• Provide great customer service to our customers
• Quote shipments and handle any discrepancies 
• Any other job duties assigned

Requirements:

Qualifications

• Five years’ experience
• Respond promptly and professionally to customer needs
• Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
• Strong communication skills with multi-faceted and diverse backgrounds
• Balance team and individual responsibilities
• Excellent customer service and computer skills
• High School Diploma or GED
