Responsibilities

As the Technical Platform Owner, AWS you will be responsible for enabling the next generation of product & application development that drives the fare management ecosystem of the global airline industry. You’ll design & evolve the platform enabling those capabilities on Amazon Web Services (AWS).  You will manage an awesome and diverse team of cloud engineers and instill a passion for delivering business value utilizing agile best practices for your customers, ATPCO product & development teams.

The Technology Division at ATPCO is embarking on a bold transformation plan to create and offer public cloud as a service/product to our customers to provide a more reliable, re-usable & scalable infrastructure. 

ATPCO provides the world’s leading technology, pricing & shopping data to airlines, global distribution systems, travel agencies & tech companies.  Owned by airlines, we blend reliable data and systems with innovative technology so we can create value for everyone.  We do this economically as well: our operations are funded by just $1 out of every $7,500 in passenger revenue.

You will:

• Be a business-oriented people leader & influencer with a strong background in public cloud technology and have a vision for running a technology platform as a product offering that will serve development & product teams
• Create platform solutions that are purpose built to serve product & developer needs throughout the entire product life cycle, now and in the future, enabling those teams to increase the velocity of code and application releases in creating world class products
• Create a team culture where serving platform customers is the day to day mission of your employees, constantly monitoring and analyzing customer feedback for platform related pain points, showing an ability to empathize with customer demand and requirements
• Implement agile delivery methods to prioritize the platform backlog requests, aligning that backlog with customer goals & objectives
• Iterate and grow feature functionality of the platform while delivering a rock-solid foundation of security & reliability
• Evolve with industry trends & technologies both within AWS and through other 3rd party offerings, specifically in the areas of automation, monitoring and the CICD pipeline
• Have a business mindset to manage the platform as a product, including expense & budget in partnering with finance and to eventually show and explain the platform expenses in the form of product show/charge backs

The Ideal Candidate:

• Experience in a technology role including operations, development, engineering and/or DevOps
• Outstanding communication and brokering skills in navigating large enterprise organizations
• Extensive experience managing highly visible projects with Agile project management principles and practices
• Experience managing platforms in AWS using AWS services
• Product or platform owner experience where you directly owned and managed the product/platform
