Primary Job Role:

Responsible for performing the daily work activities of all bankruptcy and recovery accounts.

Functions and Responsibilities:

• Work all bankruptcy accounts weekly to ensure there are no work gaps and all claims are being processed.
• Work bankruptcy and recovery queues daily.
• Maintain history indicating all recovery and bankruptcy activity.
• Status all new bankruptcy filings that are received either by US mail or electronic bankruptcy notification (EBN) emails daily.
• Monitor the PACER (Public Access to Court Electronic Records) website daily for updates.
• Review bankruptcy plans and Chapter 7 schedules for Credit Union treatment.
• Prepare reaffirmation agreements and send to members attorney for execution.
• Execute and file reaffirmation agreements and proof of claims electronically on Pacer.
• Work daily with vendors to ensure they are meeting the expectations of the Credit Union and that all laws and regulations are being followed.
• Perform day to day work activities for the legal charge off process (from start to finish).
• Attend court as a witness for the credit union in legal collection proceedings.
• Responsible for placing appropriate codes, holds, and blocks on bankruptcy and recovery accounts.
• Post bankruptcy trustee and recovery payments.
• Responsible for skip tracing on accounts when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Basic Requirements:

• Must have knowledge of the collection laws in the State of Alabama. 
• Must have excellent written and verbal skills, positive attitude, pleasant demeanor, decisiveness, and professionalism.
• Must be able to work at a very fast pace.

Experience:

One to three years of similar or related experience with a financial institution, collection organization or similar field preferred. 

Education:

A high school diploma or GED.
