Schedule: 4x4 schedule, 12-hour shifts

Shift: Nights

Primary Purpose of Position:

Performs manufacturing quality assurance tasks and provides quality-oriented services to support the plant's overall production goals.

• Work with QA Supervisors to disposition product for inspection.  Sort product or work with production teams on whether the product can be used or not.
• Complete visual and manual inspection of product - flatt-sheet steel that is cut into blanks or aerosol domes.
• Run defined tests on either steel food can bodies or ends. Standard testing that is based on either sampling percentages or if our QA cameras start kicking out product. 
• Conductsinspections of in-process materials and finished products to meet customer specifications. This includes but is not restricted to measuring FFCH, seam length, body hook, over hook, overlap, and flange width; measuring squareness, length and height pressure, checking metal exposure, plate quality, and tester as required. Performs other checks as needede.
• Advise production when inspection results do not meet customer specifications.
• Responsible for replenishing supplies and materials required for assigned areas.
• Perform recording, filing duties, HFI (Hold For Inspection) and related duties.
• Perform troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on inspection equipment..
• Communicate pertinent information to next shift.
• Perform clean-up, painting, and housekeeping duties.
• Interact with customers to verify quality and satisfaction.
• Participates in facility's ISO9000 endeavors.

• Prior quality experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Our plant consists of automated, high-speed steel packaging manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Broad training in a related field usually acquired through high school education or work-related experience.
• Job related experience for 2 year(s) minimum.
• Working knowledge of the following areas: all assigned quality equipment and products, Statistical Process Control software (SPC) knowledge and application.
• Ability to identify product defects using appropriate inspection procedures and test equipment.
• Ability to learn customer specifications.
• Ability to work NIGHTs (12-hour shifts), 4 on x 4 off continuous schedule.
