Job Summary

Oversee day to day operations of business office functions, client billing and accounts receivable.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee areas of the accounts receivable functions including:
  • Completion of monthly resident statements
  • Processing resident medical bills
  • Processing income from all sources; Social Security, SSI, VA, Private Pay, Railroad
  • Process monthly census inputting information for electronic billing
  • Submit required reporting to Illinois Dept. of Healthcare and Family Services and Social Security
  • Reconcile accounts receivable monthly
  • Prepare schedules and information for audits
  • Complete CILA and Community billings through the State ROCS system
  • Calculate and submit CILA monthly rent
  • Complete and timely submit Medicaid Redetermination information on each person
  • Complete Representative Payee reports for each person as determined
  • Interpret Beverly Farm policies
  • Oversee accounting software (Open Systems) and serve as liaison for support of the system
  • Supervision of assigned staff
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree from a college or university, three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write memos, business correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Knowledge of computer systems, with ability to use various accounting software programs. Ability to work with others, handle heavy workloads and frequent interruptions. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages.  Must have working knowledge of debits and credits, automated A/R experience, PC experience in MS Excel, Word and Windows basic keyboarding.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, crawl, and reach.  Employee will occasionally use mechanical lift, climb stairs and ramps.  The employee will frequently and occasionally lift and/or move up to or over 10 pounds.  From time to time, employee may be required to work long hours and overtime.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  On occasion, noise level may be very loud.  On occasion the work environment may be cold and hot.

 

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.  Specific hearing abilities required by this job include the ability to hear when communicating with employees and using a phone line.
