The Job

This position is responsible for a wide variety of duties supporting and contributing to the design and construction of custom automation and Robotics equipment/systems. The position reports to the Mechanical Build Manager and is responsible for construction, managing overall shop fabrication functions related to his/her project(s), and assembly of automation equipment designed by the Automation Engineers within the team. This position is also responsible for the final debug and troubleshooting of the automated equipment built in the automation area.

Responsibilities Include
 

• Conceptualize, improvise and modify parts to complete the build of a machine or system.
• Build automated standalone machines as well as sub-assemblies with multiple stations including feeders, robotics, etc.
• Assembling machines with the ability to use indicators and leveling tools for precise alignments.
• Ability to meet project budgets and timelines.

Requirements
 

• Technical Associates' degree in a related field is desired or a combination of high school diploma and experience will be considered.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in automation or related experience in manufacturing.
• Fabrication and machining experience using NC equipment, manual mill, lathe, and other tool room equipment
• NC experience (would be a plus)
• Basic Solidworks and AutoCad skills (would be a plus)
• High level of Mechanical Aptitude
• Good Problem-Solving Skills
• Common sense
• Welding experience
• 25%  travel required
