CITY OF SHOREVIEW Finance/Accounting Intern Salary in the United States

The City of Shoreview is now hiring a Finance Intern to work approximately 20 hours per week for roughly five months.   This position supports the work of the Finance Department including general accounting and annual audit preparation. The internship provides practical experience in applying accounting principles and policies and learning the special regulations and procedures applicable to governmental accounting.
The successful candidate will have strong technical, organizational, financial, analytical and problem solving skills.

• Assist with implementation of OpenGov budgeting software
• Run reports and stories using OpenGov software
• Assist with annual financial audit preparation
• Assist in reviewing, compiling and formatting supporting documents
• Other duties and special projects as assigned

• Current enrollment in an accredited undergraduate/graduate program with a major in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration or closely related field
• Completion of one year college level accounting coursework
• Basic skill in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Desired Qualifications

• Intermediate/advance skill in Microsoft Excel and/or Word
• Previous related work experience performing basic accounting functions

Hours: Approximately 20 hours/week, during normal business hours
Wage: $15 per hour
