CITY OF SHOREVIEW Ice Skating Instructors Salary in the United States

Shoreview's skating program consists of three different areas. Preschool children who are at least 4 years old can enroll in "preskills" classes. This course introduces preliminary moves in a 30-minute class. The purpose of the class is to develop familiarity, coordination and strength.

Basic skills classes are offered for youth. This part of the program includes Readiness Levels 1 & 2, Development Levels 3 & 4, and Proficiency Levels 5 & 6. Each level emphasizes specific skills and works to prepare students for specialized classes.

Specialized classes are designed to meet the needs of specific groups. Freestyle skating, adult classes, and private lessons are part of the specialized program.

Classes are held at the Ramsey County Shoreview Arena located across the street from the City Hall/Community Center Complex.

• Teach basic and intermediate skills to children and adults at all levels.
• Plan, organize and conduct classes; assure safety of students.
• Assess skills for readiness to move to next level.
• Adjust teaching techniques based on strengths & weaknesses of students.

• Skating knowledge and experience is required.
• Previous teaching experience is desired.
• USFSA instructor registration desired (Basic Skills, Preliminary Moves, etc.)

Hours:
Saturday mornings October through February.
2-4 hours each Saturday.
