CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH Junior Lifeguard Camp Counselor Salary in the United States

• Assist with the planning, development and implementation of the different activities to include sports, team games and lifeguarding skills for the Junior Lifeguard Program.
• Assist lifeguard instructor(s) with providing guidance and coaching to the children as necessary.
• Track the campers' attendance.
• Administer first aid, if necessary.
• Assist lifeguard instructor(s) to maintain adequate inventory of program supplies.
• Ensure supervisor is updated orally, or in writing, on all activities and it kept informed of any related issues.
• If required, perform maintenance, i.e. garbage disposal or cleaning up.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• High School diploma required. 
• Associate or bachelor's degree in a related field such as education, recreation or physical education preferred.
• Minimum of one year of related experience working with children preferably in a lifeguard summer camp environment; or any acceptable combination of education and experience.

 
License or Certification:

• American Red Cross CPR and First Aid certification is required, as well as American Red Cross Lifeguard certification. All these certifications must be obtained before 6/1/2024.
• Fingerprints and VECHS background check required.
• Florida Driver's License required.

Additional Information:

• It is the responsibility of the incumbent to maintain their licenses and/or certifications as a job requirement.

Must be available to work the entire camp duration (6/10/2024 – 8/9/2024).
 
Must also attend mandatory staff meeting orientation on 5/24/2024 & 5/25/2024, parent orientation on 5/30/2024, and may be required to assist week prior to start of camp, and week after camp ends.
