CITY OF SURPRISE BASEBALL FIELD MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN Salary in the United States

SUMMARY
Incumbents perform routine work in the maintenance of the City's sports facilities, parks, and trails.  This is accomplished by performing skilled and semi-skilled construction and maintenance duties such as mowing, landscaping, irrigation, and sports fields and general maintenance.  Depending on assignment, incumbents may be required to work evenings, holidays, and weekends to support events and tournaments.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED, and two years of sports turf maintenance, parks, recreation or related experience. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 
Must have at time of hire and be able to maintain a valid Arizona Driver License. Pesticide/herbicide applicator license is required within six months of hire and must be maintained.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: 
Due to the safety sensitive nature of this position, candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening prior to start date.
