BASIC FUNCTION:
Performs as part of the nursing team in non-clinical tasks and coordinates activities of the unit.
SUPERVISORY ACCOUNTABILITY: None
NATURE AND SCOPE:
Responsible for daily interaction with ED leadership team, as well as entire ED physician group and ED staff members. Will have daily interactions with staff from various departments both internally and externally.
PRINCIPALACCOUNTABILITIES:
Supports the mission, vision and values of the hospital.
Responsible for working in a safe and protective manner at all times, keeping in mind that safety and environmental hazards are the responsibility of all employees for themselves, other staff members and patients.
Performs and coordinates clerical activities on the unit to promote patient focused care.
Efficiently and appropriately utilizes office equipment.
Places, receives, and properly documents phone interactions.
Demonstrates positive communication skills in a caring, courteous, and professional manner appropriate to all ages.
Records and relays messages and other pertinent information to other members of the healthcare team.
Performs as a customer service champion as demonstrated by AIDET:
• Keeps patients informed
• Provides timely information and updates to patients
• Communicates any delays in a caring and compassionate manner, demonstrating a sense of urgency
• Communicates with clinical staff patient concerns of pain management.
• Performs hourly rounding on patients to keep them informed and to ensure the patients have call-bells, pills, blankets, care givers names are on the boards, and patient and family needs are exceeded.
Performs other duties as assigned.

High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's Degree preferred.
Minimum one (1) year of experience in healthcare setting preferred.
Minimum two (2) years of experience in customer service role required.
