Description:

BASIC FUNCTION: 
Performs as part of the nursing team in non-clinical tasks and coordinates activities of the Cath Lab unit.

SUPERVISORY ACCOUNTABILITY:  None

NATURE AND SCOPE:
Responsible for daily interaction with outside Physician Offices as well as IRMA and Cleveland Clinic physician groups. Will have daily interactions with staff from various departments both internally and externally.

PRINCIPALACCOUNTABILITIES: 
Supports the mission, vision and values of the hospital.

Responsible for working in a safe and protective manner at all times, keeping in mind that HIPPA, Safety and environmental hazards are the responsibility of all employees for themselves, other staff members and patients.

Performs and coordinates clerical activities in the Cath Lab to promote patient focused care.

Efficiently and appropriately utilizes office equipment Computers and their systems.

Places, receives, and properly documents phone interactions and Patient data.

Demonstrates positive communication skills in a caring, courteous, and professional manner appropriate to all ages.

Records and relays messages and other pertinent information to other members of the healthcare team.

Performs as a customer service champion as demonstrated by AIDET:

  • Keeps patients informed
  • Provides timely information and updates to patients
  • Communicates any delays in a caring and compassionate manner, demonstrating a sense of urgency
  • Communicates with clinical staff patient concerns of pain management.
  • Responsible for Daily schedule posting
  • Informs team of add on patients
  • Places orders for Lab draws
  • Places orders for cases
  • Ensures proper documentation for next day cases
  • Works closely with central scheduling and Admissions
  • Communicates with physiccian offices
  • Ensures proper insurance authorization is obtained
  • Works closely as a team with Cath Lab staff

CORE COMPETENCIES
Effective communication both verbal and written.

Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively.

PC proficiency.

Ability to effectively work with diverse populations.

Knowledge of medical terminology.

Demonstrated ability to deliver excellent customer service.

Previous administrative/clerical experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 
High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's Degree preferred.

Minimum one (1) year of experience in healthcare setting preferred.
