This position works within the Global Process Organization within the Accounts Payable and Purchasing modules to globally manage and support overall function and streamline business processes related to Procurement to Payment services performed by the Offshore Shared Services (OSS) team. This position will be responsible for development and administration of all Standard Operating Procedures performed by the OSS team, as well as ensuring Business Unit compliance with those procedures specified within the Covance Procure to Pay manual. Position is the administrator of escalated rework cases and is responsible to resolve them by working with the Covance BU parties that have created the escalation. The position is also responsible for training and monitoring to ensure escalated cases are tracked and addressed both from a People and Process perspective.

 

  • Responsible for following and maintaining Global standard processes for the BPO Procure to Payment business flow.
  • Responsible for identifying and addressing nonstandard processes for BPO Procure to Payment business flow through interaction with global controllership teams and appropriate stakeholders
  • Responsible for identifying and addressing those Covance employees that are causing re work within the Procure to Payment business flow and address through training and advisement
  • Partners with relevant finance & business leaders to address issues that arise within the Procure to Pay cycle through regular interaction.
  • Responsible for documentation and revision of SOPs for BPO Accounts Payable
  • BPO site visits as needed to address training or process issues.
  • Indirectly supervises the efforts of Genpact Accounts Payable and Purchasing teams
  • Indirectly supervises the system use and training of Offshore Supervisors and Offshore team members
  • Analyzes and determines root cause of problems encountered for items within Procure to Pay process flow and implements solutions.
  • Responsible for directing the investigation analysis and resolution by the offshore team of tier 1 accounts payable transactions which cannot be paid due to existing issue
  • Responsible for identifying, managing analyzing and resolving tier 2 accounts payable transactions which cannot be paid due to existing issue and resolves them
  • Responsible for identifying processes or people that are repeatedly causing tier 2 issues and addressing the issues that are found
  • Responsible for identifying process improvement opportunities and addressing them 

Education/Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Business Administration or related experience required.
  • Ability to perform intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Excel/Word/Powerpoint
  • PeopleSoft experience in Accounts Payable

Experience:

  • 5+ years PeopleSoft Accounts Payable and or Purchasing applications
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Vendors
  • Demonstrated analysis and problem solving skills using innovative thinking.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and navigating a complex matrix environment.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, influencing and facilitation skills.
