Associate Director, Finance

The Opportunity

Denali Therapeutics is seeking to recruit an Associate Director, R&D Finance. Reporting to the Head of R&D Finance, this position will advise functional business units & project teams to guide the growth of the company.  The individual in this role will be responsible for leading the annual budget, long-range plan, and quarterly forecasts. The individual will build strategic financial analysis to support management and pipeline decisions. 

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial advice to project teams by partnering to develop Clinical Development Plans, scenario modelling, risk management and other decision support analyses
• Support prioritization and resource allocation to drive growth across the company
• Build analytical frameworks and forward-looking models to enable quality decision-making
• Support preparation of financial updates to senior management and the Board of Directors
• Partner with project teams and departments to develop and manage clinical trial, program and functional budgets
• Participate in corporate development projects, including analyses supporting R&D investments, licensing & collaborations
• Partner with accounting organization to ensure timely and accurate financial data and control compliance

Requirements

• Successful track record leading financial processes, analytics and business partnering
• Strong knowledge and experience with accounting principles, valuations and financial analysis
• Positive work ethic, strong analytical and organizational skills with a solid ability to communicate both visually and verbally
• Good interpersonal skills, driven to success and getting the job done well in a highly dynamic environment. Self-motivated, independent and results-oriented
• Life science / pharma / biotech experience required. R&D preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Experience with financial planning and ERP systems
• Bachelor's Degree preferably in Accounting, Finance or related field. MBA, CFA or CPA a plus.
• Minimum 7 to 10 years of Finance related experience in a Life Science/Biopharma setting
