Denali Therapeutics is seeking to recruit a Associate Director of Nonclinical Safety (Toxicology). The Toxicologist will lead safety strategies for small and large molecule discovery and development programs, and work in close collaboration with colleagues in Research and Development.

Responsibilities

  • Function as a project toxicologist in project teams
  • Design and oversee nonclinical toxicology programs and strategies to advance Denali’s pipeline of small and large molecule therapeutics (non-GLP and GLP studies)
  • Analyze, interpret, and summarize nonclinical safety data and present data to internal project teams and leadership
  • Author regulatory documents
  • Lead investigative efforts into mechanisms of toxicity as needed
  • Develop and implement target de-risking and screening strategies in discovery teams to support safety lead optimization efforts. 
  • Manages and mentors toxicologists
  • Project Team Leadership

Requirements

  • PhD in Toxicology, Biology, Pharmacology or related scientific discipline
  • 10+ years of biotech/pharmaceutical drug discovery/development experience  
  • Expert knowledge of small molecule Toxicology in Drug Development
  • Strong scientific background and scientific aptitude
  • Excellent critical thinking and scientific skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively on cross-functional project teams
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent oral, presentation, and written communication skills
