Job Description: Group Financial Controller – Elements Group

The Opportunity:

The Elements Group comprises of several private office companies, Earth Elements Design Center, Earth Elements Fabrication and a Technology Company that builds Enterprise Software.

Earth Elements is a USA Based Project Management, Procurement & Logistics Company for the high-end luxury residential home market, serving clients nationally & Internationally. Currently specializing in Interior Finishes: Appliances, Cabinetry, Doors & Door Hardware, Plumbing, Lighting, Tile, Stone & Wood Flooring. Our proprietary industry leading Project platform brings all stakeholders (Architects, Interior Designers, Builders and Homeowners) together into a cloud-based project management, design, fulfillment and finance system.

We currently have 5 physical locations throughout the North-West USA Region however our business serves many remote clients.

The Group Financial Controller position is accountable for the accounting operations of all 10 Entities. This position will report to the Group CEO/CFO and oversee both local and offshore accounting teams (11 Staff).

Job Description:
 

• Supports senior management team and departments with in-depth analysis and regularly scheduled calls with store managers on performance
• Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO/CFO and members of the executive management team
• Oversee and review weekly, monthly & quarterly financial reports, providing narrative explanations related to material variances to budget and noteworthy trends
• Overseeing the General Ledger, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition functions to advise on long-term business and financial planning
• Oversee and execute the month-end closing process of US GAAP-based financial statements 
• Monitors fiscal performance and looks for variances or trends
• Establish, monitor, and enforce appropriate internal controls across accounting and finance department
• Develop and review organizations budget, using forecasts and models to determine how to allocate funds
• Responsible for accurate payroll of employees and proper reporting to government and payment of taxes
• Represents company with integrity and fiscal responsibility to government agencies
• Prepare one-off, special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends requested by management
• Maintains responsibility for fiscal integrity of all financial reporting and operations 
• Find ways to improve cash flow, reduce costs and enhance fiscal integrity
• Coordinate and manager seamless integration between business units and timely month end financial reporting
• Communicates with co-workers, management, vendors and others in a courteous and professional manner
• Manage finance team and responsible for reviews, monthly KPIs and performance of team
• Additional duties as required

Required Background:

• MBA or CPA  required
• Understanding of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) 
• Exceptional communication skills, both written & spoken
• Bachelors degree in accounting or finance related area
• 10 + years of accounting or finance related experience or demonstrated knowledge
• Administrative, organizational, and communication skills
• Must be able to operate in a fast-paced entrepreneurial work environment
• Must have experience working in back office operations
• Must be an expert user of MS office suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook. Advanced abilities with data analysis, excel, spreadsheets and word processing
