Ericsson is pleased to announce the opening of a new design/development center in the heart of Austin, Texas.  Taking advantage of the large pool of software talent of Austin, Ericsson is creating a new SW development team here to work on 5G!   We’re looking to staff a large number of design positions in several development areas.

5G is coming soon, and Ericsson is the early leader in bringing it to market. Pre-commercial trials are happening now and the possibilities across industries are endless – from automotive and transports to agriculture, utilities and more.

 

Our Exciting Opportunity:

Ericsson Austin is looking for an experienced technical People Manager to join a growing world-class semiconductor development organization and to lead Digital ASIC development for leading-edge 5G communication products.

 

You will:

  • Leverage your listening, communicating, and consulting skills to motivate and empower team members and stakeholders to meet organizational goals
  • Manage, mentor, and lead ASIC development engineers as their first-level manager
  • Grow and retain a world-class ASIC development team in an Agile Scrum flow
  • Help drive continuous improvements into the organization while helping drive quality and timely delivery on team commitments.

 

To be successful in the role, you must have:

  • Master’s degree in engineering (or equivalent)
  • 5+ years of management experience leading pre- and/or post-silicon semiconductor development, preferably within a cross-site and multicultural organization
  • Solid understanding of front-end semiconductor development lifecycle, e.g.: requirements gathering, definition, RTL design, design verification, synthesis, timing analysis (STA), and silicon bring-up / validation
  • Expertise in design, verification, and/or implementation of complex ASICs and/or IPs
  • Conceptual understanding of agile methods, e.g. kanban and scrum frameworks
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for fostering good working relationships with the development team and the larger global organization
  • Demonstrated results-oriented leadership skills
