About the Role

We are looking for a high energy content nerd to join Ethos’ growing Marketing Team. You’ll be tasked with building a high-quality content development arm for the business. You will focus on providing value to prospects and customers through the identification and creation of educational content that supports lead generation, sales enablement, and retention. Think of yourself as Ethos' resident storyteller, strategizing what type of content we produce to drive growth, acquisition, activation, retention, and engagement of current and potential customers. The ideal candidate is passionate about curating content that empowers both new and potential customers to understand the important role life insurance plays in an individual’s financial legacy. This person will own the content strategy, establishing the processes and toolkits needed to scale the business. 

This role will play an influential part in establishing Ethos as a thought leader at the intersection of insurance and technology.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Own, plan, and execute all content marketing initiatives, building out an editorial brand content calendar that educates and empowers users to make informed life insurance decisions.
  • Build out and manage our freelancer Rolodex, ensuring expertise, accuracy, and inspiration color every Ethos branded content piece. 
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Design, Customer Experience and other stakeholders to develop a range of multimedia content (i.e. web videos, blog posts, eBooks, webinars, interactive widgets) to support the overall marketing team goals.
  • Create a content marketing campaign strategy across Facebook, Web, Instagram, and Lifecycle channels. Overseeing the creation and execution of channel-specific content. 
  • Oversee and optimize the Ethos blog and other owned content

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Outstanding copywriting and editing skills, and the ability to deliver content effectively
  • Experience defining, tracking and reporting on content metrics and ability to communicate this effectively to a larger team.
  • Experience working for, managing content, or writing for fintech, life insurance, personal finance, (or other complicated/ regulated industries like healthcare) it would be a plus
  • Analytical thinking and strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple projects, prioritize and deliver against changing priorities, multiple stakeholders, and aggressive deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of paid and organic media channels and how they relate to content and campaign promotion and amplification.
  • A strategic thinker capable of generating product and educational narratives.
  • Background as an agency strategist or planner role huge plus!
  • Strong verbal and visual communication skills.
  • A passion for Ethos mission to reinvent life insurance.
