Who You Are

The TRIO Upward Bound Program (UB), a federally funded TRIO program, is designed to assist high school students from first generation and limited-income backgrounds to complete secondary school and postsecondary education programs. Program services include group and individual counseling, academic advising and support, exposure to career and educational opportunities, and personal enrichment activities. The program serves 60 students annually at Westminster High School (WHS).

As the TRIO UB Engagement and Enrollment Coordinator, you work directly with students to ensure their academic success and transition to postsecondary education, maintain data and records needed to maintain the grant, collaborate with WHS administrators and staff, and support coordination of summer programming.  

SELECTION PROCESS:  Position will remain open until filled with a priority deadline of May 2, 2021.

SALARY: Low 40’s Annually

PRIMARY DUTIES: 

Provide academic and student support services to TRIO UB participants 

• Support application and enrollment processes.
• Monitor student progress and provide individualized coaching, interventions, or referrals as appropriate.
• Support students with coursework and development of study and testing taking skills.
• Assist in the completion of FAFSA and scholarship opportunities.

Lead post-secondary education preparation activities for program participants

• Disseminate college and program informational materials to all UB participants.
• Coordinate and supervise student participation in college fairs/open houses, information sessions, campus visits, field trips and workshops.
• Assist in making direct referrals to other TRIO and other student support programs.

Co-lead UB summer programming

• Co-lead summer programming on campus and off campus for residential activities.
• Coordinate enrichment activities, physical activities, field trips, and cultural events.
• Communicate program activities with UB participants, UB parents/guardians, UB staff, and FRCC staff.

Student Record & Data Management:

• Assist in program reporting utilizing Student Access, Banner, OneDrive, Navigate, and other technology platforms available through FRCC and WHS.
• Document students’ need for service and verification of eligibility requirements.
• Maintain timely and accurate records of student activities.
• Ensure physical and electronic student files are up to date.
