GARMIN Accounting Associate - Accounting Operations Salary in the United States

Garmin is looking for a Accounting Associate on the operations side that will be responsible for activities related to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Analyze accounting discrepancies and resolve using independent judgment  
• Prepare and maintain account reconciliations 
• Perform accounting research and analysis
• Provide accounting expertise and recommendations to external and internal business partners
• Record various journal entries as needed during month/quarter-end 
• Create, maintain and run financial reports
• Perform Sarbanes-Oxley testing as needed
• Prepare, analyze, and maintain various Excel spreadsheets for reconciling purposes
• Independently complete responsibilities
• Meet monthly, quarterly and annual reporting deadlines
• Complete assignments related to area of responsibility

Accounts Receivable: 

• Maintain, research, and collect on large volume Key and OEM Accounts to avoid delays in resolving disputed, unpaid invoices
• Prepare recurring schedules as necessary
• Complete daily auto invoice, GCH payments, and create intercompany AR invoices

Accounts Payable

• Act as the program administrator for the corporate purchasing and travel card program and complete reconciliation of charges each month to the general ledger
• Initiate wire payments through third party banks to correlate with related AP payments
• Assist with AP invoice entry and weekly payment schedules

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist Finance department in other duties/projects as needed 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Must possess a minimum of 5 years of accounting experience and demonstrate a proficient grasp of accounting principles  
• Associate degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or another field relevant for the successful performance of the essential functions of this job description and/or minimum of 12 hours of accounting credits
• Demonstrated proficient computer skills including Intermediate Microsoft Excel
• Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
• Must be detail-oriented with demonstrated organizational and analytical skills
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment.
• Demonstrate the ability to be self-motivated with strong problem-solving and negotiation skills
• Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills 

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with Oracle Applications
