Garmin is seeking a full-time Advanced Sensor Lead to drive technology, engage with suppliers and ensure that the best sensor technology is selected for use in our products. Garmin uses a variety of embedded sensors, including accelerometers, barometers, pressure sensors, magnetometers, gyroscopes, IMUs and image sensors. As an Advanced Sensor Lead, you will create a strategy and lead efforts to verify and source highly competitive sensor solutions that enable exceptional Garmin products. We are looking for someone who has experience in a similar role, or with a background in technical sales, field applications, system engineering, design engineering, technical commodity manager or technical marketing in semiconductors or similar component technology. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Manage sensor supplier relationships with various semiconductor companies - Supplier engagement and assessment - Ensure regular communication with various product teams within Garmin, including coordination, alignment and knowledge management - Drive technology selection, testing, troubleshooting and cost reduction strategy - Coordinate with supplier quality and technology pool resources (electrical engineers, mechanical engineers and Software engineers) - Strategize, track, and report on Sensor activity  - Serve as the sensors interface to the Executive team - Drive technology - Revolutionary new technologies  - Evolutionary improvements in current technologies  - Researching, testing and validation of new suppliers and new components - Push suppliers to develop solutions that solve technical challenges - Ensure product relevancy - Develop and maintain inside knowledge of product requirements - Selection of the best technology for each product type - Assist with being first to market with exciting new technologies OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: - Perform other job-related duties as assigned - International travel required
