We’re looking for an experienced professional with a passion for email marketing, quantitative analysis, nonprofits, and a history of driving consistent growth. You will own and execute the email marketing strategy for our two key audiences—online shoppers and nonprofit organizations—with the goal of increasing activation and retention among both audiences via onboarding, transactional, and promotional emails that engage, nurture, convert, and grow revenue for our affiliate brand partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage overall email program health, developing and executing sophisticated email marketing strategies to retain and engage Giving Assistant members and nonprofit partners
  • Increase overall revenue growth and audience engagement by optimizing email performance (open rates and click rates)
  • Utilize expertise in multiple email marketing and delivery platforms in order to optimize workflows, promote positive and efficient team collaboration, and accelerate growth
  • Demonstrate well-developed creative thinking skills by designing and maintaining streamlined, efficient email production workflows, and expertly navigating multiple platforms given limited resources
  • Partner with our Product team to increase the number of email list subscribers, plus develop and implement subscriber segments
  • Define a personalization strategy for brand marketing and onboarding emails, and work with the Product team to execute
  • Capture and leverage user data to prioritize, develop, execute, and optimize email strategies that will boost audience engagement and loyalty, and improve overall retention
  • Take an analytical approach to A/B testing and turn insights into actionable plans
  • Collaborate with and support the revenue and retention goals of multiple stakeholding teams including: Brand Partnerships, Nonprofit Partnerships, Product, and Customer Service
  • Improve lead quality by identifying and attracting ideal-fit users for both online shopper and nonprofit audiences
  • Maintain a deep understanding of our shopper and nonprofit user lifecycles and evolve email touch points accordingly
  • Create documentation on the lead generation systems, optimization processes, and best practices for company and department growth
  • Research and help implement the necessary automation tools for marketing efforts
  • Work to support the Giving Assistant brand by ensuring that our voice and narrative are consistent across campaigns and channels, our email copy is pristine, and by delivering behavioral insights that may inform future brand iterations

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Analytics, or equivalent experience
  • 5-7+ years of analytical, quantitative email marketing and lifecycle marketing experience
  • IMB acoustic, silverpop, email automation/relational tables, life cycle campaigns, enterprise ESP platforms, AMPscript, dynamic content
  • Deep technical skills and know-how required
  • Knowledge of best practices for deliverability, segmentation, and subject lines
  • Experience building and managing campaigns on multiple email marketing platforms, as well as integrating with other martech platforms for analytics and marketing automation
  • Approaches problems from a systems perspective with the ability to create documentation to support a growing department
  • Experience working with creative teams (copy and design)
  • Experience building and managing a small team
  • Experience with email automation and transactional sends
  • Experience with email deliverability and supporting tools
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management / organizational / analytical skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and highly creative
  • Motivated, driven and self-starting individual who enjoys solving problems and finding areas of improvement
  • IBM Acoustic (formerly Silverpop) experience or similar email platforms
  • HTML and CSS knowledge
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
