The Trust and Safety team at GlossGenius is focused on ensuring that the payments and users we support are inspiring and safe business owners. We’re looking to bring in an all-star to lead the Trust & Safety team and play a key role in keeping our users safe. As Trust & Safety Manager, you will be at the forefront of these efforts, leading a team in moderating GlossGenius users, reviewing payments processed through GlossGenius, reacting and adapting to malicious activity on our app, and generally minimizing the presence of content and users that could be detrimental to our users and brand.


This is an exciting role where you will have the opportunity to create, develop, and implement processes to lead the Trust & Safety team in its crucial role of safeguarding our business. You will have full ownership across projects you work on, drive high-impact projects end-to-end, and work on and touch everything across GlossGenius to ensure the safety of our users. You will be a critical member of our team, helping our organization process safe payments and keep our community safe.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Managing a 5+ person Trust & Safety department (in the U.S. and overseas) that is responsible for:
    • Conducting KYC reviews of new GlossGenius users
    • Reviewing transactions on our platform 
    • Reviewing chargebacks  and managing the chargeback resolution process
    • Enforcing GlossGenius’s Terms of Service and payment guidelines
    • Managing GlossGenius’s user requests related to data privacy compliance
    • Investigating and responding to fraud, spam, content abuse, and other problematic activities
  • Design, direct, and manage the successful execution of GlossGenius’s fraud prevention and risk & compliance monitoring and prevention plan. 
  • Monitor and support resolution of issues identified through careful examination of our existing processes.
  • Provide strategic and proactive consultation in identifying risk exposures and in evaluating solutions for internal control weaknesses and issues
  • Implement new technology, machine learning algorithms, and solutions to ensure better fraud prevention mechanisms. 
  • Implement processes that scale as our users and transactions continue to grow.
  • Stay up to date with the latest payment and user fraud schemes and constantly update our processes to stay ahead of potential fraud. 
  • Collaborate with Customer Success and other functions in the company on user communication for the purpose of fraud prevention. 
  • Set aggressive and meaningful goals for you and your team, and drive towards them independently.
  • Develop regular reporting to the executive team

Must-have qualifications and expertise include: 


  • Highly systematic thinking as shown demonstrated by prior work or experience.
  • Experience with payment fraud prevention and former risk, fraud prevention, and/or trust and safety  roles at a top bank, consulting firm, technology company or payment processor. 
  • Building, coaching, developing teams.
  • Experience prioritizing tasks and delivering results.
  • Experience working with minimal supervision to multitask and manage workload to completion.
  • Highly metric and KPI-driven
  • Program management, communication, stakeholder management, negotiating, and influencing experience with a track record of achieving engagement from internal and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a top tier university
