Description

JOB SUMMARY: Assist with managerial duties within the Ecommerce Department, including responsibility for Ecommerce operations as directed by the Ecommerce Manager. Coordinate and lead personnel training in all aspects of Ecommerce operations as directed. Supervise associates and assist in the receiving, processing and shipping of jewelry, collectibles and ready to wear items. Contribute to optimizing and improving Ecommerce operations. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

 

Assist management in meeting and/or exceeding revenue and inventory goals by actively seeking to maintain best practices.

 

Help maintain all Ecommerce and Goodwill related assets; ensure protection of assets from either internal or external losses.

 

Communicate problems, complaints, potential theft and/or safety issues to the Ecommerce Manager or designated assignee.

 

Perform duties required to produce listings in combination with performing any assigned assistant managerial duties.

 

Ensure that safety, housekeeping and security is maintained, reporting all needed repairs, problems and/or hazards immediately.

 

Provide guidance to staff on questions or issues regarding Ecommerce operations; inform Ecommerce Manager or designee of personnel-related problems.

 

Provide input to Ecommerce Manager on staff performance appraisals and counseling.

 

Demonstrate and enforce Kaizen practices.

 

Aid in training internal staff.

 

Collect and share data via existing and to-be-determined reports.

 

Address customer service questions in a professional manner.

 

In the absence and/or at the direction of the Ecommerce Manager, answer all phone inquiries.

 

 

 

In the absence or at the direction of the Ecommerce Manager, interacts as a liaison between employees and administration when needed.

 

 

SECONDARY DUTIES

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

 

EDUCATION REQUIRED:                       High school diploma or equivalent.

 

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: May require a valid CA driver license, depending

`                                                                  on specific position.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:                                                               Minimum one year of Ecommerce experience in

                                                           processing, shipping/receiving or equivalent.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:                   At least one year experience with computers, cameras and typical software, online programs and search engines such as Google, Ebay, Amazon and MS. Knowledge of collectibles, jewelry and/or antiques helpful.

 

Familiarity with Goodwill Central Coast’s mission, general company and retail policies and procedures (this may be learned on the job).

 

EQUIPMENT USED:                                Typical processing equipment, typical office equipment, computers, bar code scanners, digital cameras, shipping scale.

Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Ability to communicate in basic Spanish preferred.

 

 Ability to learn new computer programs and utilize tools effectively in e-commerce.

 Ability to produce listings in combination with assistant managerial duties.

 

 Ability to perform routine work, adapting to change as it relates to work flow without loss of      efficiency.

 

Ability to tactfully explain decisions and present information clearly.

 

Ability to maintain self-control and work in cooperation with co-workers.

 

Ability to perform both repetitive and varied duties without loss of composure or efficiency.

 

Ability to examine items and visually differentiate between them based on quality standards.

 

Ability to take acceptable digital photos for online listings.

 

Ability to meet and maintain established production and quality standards, as communicated   by the supervisor.

 

Ability to provide excellent customer service per Goodwill guidelines and procedures.

 

Ability to demonstrate satisfactory attendance, according to Goodwill policy.

 

Ability to adhere to safe work practices as documented in Company safety policies; ability to report safety hazards/accidents promptly to supervisor or safety committee member.

 

EMOTIONAL EFFORT:

 

The work is routine with occasional periods of high activity/demand requiring little or no overtime to       complete the work.

 

JOB SETTING

 

Work is performed in large enclosed warehouse area or retail store on an even concrete floor surface. The area is heated and may have some natural ventilation.  The temperature will fluctuate to some degree depending on location within the department.

 

Dust and dirt is controlled by daily cleaning of the work area.  Some of the materials handled may be soiled; these are disposed of following established procedures.

 

Work is completed independently but in cooperation with co-workers as needed to perform job duties. There may be some public contact in relation to questions regarding items shipped and/or use of shipping vendors.

 

The noise volume is moderately high throughout the day depending on the amount of activity, equipment in operation and radio operation.

 

Material handling equipment (forklift, hand truck, movable containers/racks) and trucks may be operated in or near work area.
