goTenna Inc., Brooklyn, NY seeks Technical Leads Mobile Software - Owning the design, building, and maintenance of the goTenna Android and IOS apps codebase to include reviewing product new requirements for our goTenna Mobile Apps, designing the data model, control and customer-facing aspects of those features, and implementing them in Java and/or Kotlin programming languages for Android and Swift programming language for IOS. Ensuring highest quality and performance of goTenna’s Android and IOS apps by writing and performing Junit and Android Instrument unit testing and integration tests and contributing to the Mobile Apps continuous integration and continuous deployment tools and participating in performance monitoring for the apps and defect-triage and fixing. Be an effective technical leader, mentoring the Mobile development team and bringing your expertise to guide the design, building, and maintenance of goTenna products codebase. Developing a scalable, maintainable architecture using Restful APIs and MVP and MVC design pattern and MVC/MVP, OOPS, or MVVM architecture patterns and use of object-oriented design patterns and Java. Coding by applying best-in-class software engineering practices and a rock-solid understanding of object-oriented design patterns. Understanding standard encryption algorithms and applying them to protect mobile application data and secure communications between GoTenna applications including use of Encryption and Android security. Collaborating with designers, firmware engineers, QA engineers, and product managers to launch new products, making iterations on existing features and building a world-class user experience in our Apps. Implementing Rest API services in mobile applications for user authentication and integrating web portal services. Designing and developing SDK (Software Development Kits) for third-party developers. This SDK facilitates the creation of their own apps that interact with our goTenna radio devices and it provides the necessary modules for communication protocols, Bluetooth, encryption, etc. Responsible for releasing mobile apps and monitoring apps performance in play store/AppStore using Cocoapods, Firebase, Gradle/Maven, Git and Android studio developer tools. Serve as the central point of communication when required by the Program Manager on progress updates, backlog estimates, etc. Oversee the Pull Request and Code Review processes in Git to ensure they are being followed properly from a coding-standards and documentation perspective. Providing engineering support for customer issues and general problem-solving. Giving support to product managers to answer technical customer questions.

Requires Master’s (or foreign educ. equiv.) Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or closely related field and Three (3) yrs. experience in the job offered or related. Alternatively, will accept Bachelor’s (or foreign educ. equiv.) Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or closely related field and Five (5) yrs. (post-degree, progressive) experience in Job Offered or related. Experience must have included Performing Android development using Java and Kotlin; IOS development using Swift language; Use of object-oriented design patterns and Java; Use of Encryption and Android security; Architecting mobile app using Restful APIs and MVP and MVC design pattern; Performing Junit and Android Instrument unit testing; Use of Developer tools including Firebase, Maven, Gradle, Git and Android Studio; and Mentoring and supporting peers and engineering teams fostering best practices.
