Summary

The Business Development Operations Manager is responsible for moving business development (BD) projects forward and is responsible for the following: coordinating project workflow and deliverables throughout the life of multiple projects; communication with and coordination activities between BD, Marketing, Finance, and Consultants; providing process management for proposal and contract preparation and execution; compiling performance and outcome reporting for weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports; performing comparative data analysis; drafting internal presentations and reports; drafting or editing internal correspondence; and other duties as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides coordination to internal GG+A teams (BD, Marketing, Finance, Consulting Resources, Consultants, etc.) for proposal and contract-related initiatives.
  • Serves as the primary liaison for consultants and other internal working groups to coordinate and attend 1:1 meetings, working group meetings, and manage timelines and follow-up from meetings.
  • Serves on the BD Task Force and is responsible for taking notes and coordinating follow-up / next steps.
  • Create contracts based upon an agreed scope of work between GG+A and the client
  • Create Fee Matrices expressing project financial and operational budget
  • Collaborate with GG+A staff and clients on contract language and financial constraints
  • Ensure projects are set up correctly within all GG+A systems
  • Serves as a member of the Salesforce Stakeholders group, representing the proposal and contracting teams.
  • Manages the lifecycle of proposals and contracts, ensuring timeliness of assignments, stage, and deadline.
  • Responsible for data management of opportunities in Salesforce.
  • Assists in the development and delivery of proposal and contract reports and presentations.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining all proposal and contract process documents. 
  • Coordinates the annual process of updating consultant bios and client lists.
  • Coordinate with consultants on client engagements: resource time, expenses, and billings
  • Review time on all projects on a monthly basis to ensure projects are kept within the agreed upon scope, reallocate time as needed
  • Create reports and metrics used to analyze Consultants performance
  • Identify workflow/system improvements and work with team to enact change.
    • Report automation across numerous aspects of the month end process
    • Process Improvements across the life of an engagement from proposal to project close
    • Document current/new processes
  • Maintains helpful, positive attitude; contributes to an efficient, collegial working environment.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience with at least 1-2 years direct experience in managing projects or programs.  Experience in higher education, nonprofit, or fundraising preferred.
  • Experience and proven ability with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
