SUMMARY

The BI Analyst will support functions essential to the IT, Sales, Supply Chain, and Product Development to build strategy, analytics, process, and tools that accelerate performance and facilitate sound business decisions. This individual will report directly to the Chief Revenue Officer and have an opportunity to collaborate, educate and train teams to use the data as an analytical tool, displaying the information in new forms for the purpose of option exploration. The ideal BI Analyst will be a self-starter with the ability to apply statistics, data profiling techniques, machine-learning techniques and apply analytical techniques such as linear regression, logistic regression, and understand model validation.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Proactively work with internal/external team(s) to define necessary information and create information solutions based on business, clinical, or project requirements needed to drive improvement in support of business unit/service line strategies
• Engage in continuous study of the entire professional field, including market trends, research and best practices, to maintain the professional competence, knowledge, and skills necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
• Provide clear, insightful analysis that tells a story and helps leaders make better decisions, using a variety of communication methods (Tableau, Powerpoint, Word Documents, Dashboards, etc)

• Perform analysis to design the best possible BI solution to meet requirements. Analyze data from multiple sources to design BI solution data model. Work with data warehouse team to analyze and design new BI solutions. Analyze potential alternatives to present data (reports, visualizations, dashboards, scorecards, etc.) and make recommendations to internal clients for business intelligence.

• Provide visual design solutions and to create easy-to-understand reports and dashboards that deliver insights
• Perform standard data analysis such as descriptive statistics, trend analysis and correlation to effectively interpret data, and reviews multiple data sets looking at correlating factors and relationships between data
• Utilize appropriate methodologies for collecting, analyzing and presenting data and information by making use of BI reporting tools (e.g. SQL Server Data Tools, R or Python, Tableau, SAP Business Objects, etc.)
• Ensure that processes and services are continuously monitored for data accuracy, quality, effectiveness and efficiency. Engages in process and quality improvement activities, including working with Data Governance team to optimize data quality and transparency

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data / Information Science, Management Information Systems or engineering fields, Actuarial Science, Economics, Statistics, or similar, or equivalent experience.
• 3 years business intelligence/information analysis and report authoring
• Experience with using statistical analysis tools such as SAS; R or python.
• Experience with Data Visualization tools such as Tableau, Spotfire, or other.
• Ability to lead a team on data related projects.
• Highly effective verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of management.
• Strong teamwork, communication and customer service skills.
• Strong analytical, attention to detail, organizational and core project management skills.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS 

• Experience with business analysis techniques to define requirements and design quality BI solutions.
• Understand Business Intelligence best practices and practical implementation experience.
• Experience developing solutions with BI tools such as Tableau
• Understand database concepts. Experience using SQL to test datasets and semantic frameworks.
• Understand programming concepts and apply as needed for customization requirements.
• Adept reading BI-tool-generated SQL to diagnose and tune for performance problems.

• Base plus bonus
