Responsibilities

Job Title:  Maintenance Supervisor

FLSA Status:  Non Exempt

Department:  Maintenance

Position Summary:  Supervise preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks. Troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness.

Position Responsibilities

• Position reports to the Director of Operations.
• Responsible for managing the day-to-day maintenance operations of the physical plant of the Academy.
• Manage the maintenance technicians, including assignment of tickets/tasks, schedules, budgets, reporting, purchasing and hiring employees.
• Schedule and manage vendors, including obtaining proposals, submitting work for approval, scheduling work, managing work for building maintenance and construction.
• Assist the Director of Operations with managing and supervising projects.
• Communicate with all operational departments including transportation, accommodations, food & beverage, grounds, health and safety, campus safety and warehouse and other key departments such as campus life, housing and health services.
• Schedule and manage maintenance projects in building maintenance and sports fields/courts.
• Coordination of emergency procedures, work closely with the Director of Operations, property managers, campus safety and health and safety manager.
• Coordinate with the events department that all maintenance operational needs are meet to run events efficiently.
• Maintaining records, reports and files on the computer with systems such as Manage Engine, Workday, Microsoft products and others.
• Oversee and perform repairs of the physical plant of the Academy including but not limited to preventative maintenance, predictive and routine maintenance tasks, troubleshoot issues, repair failures in equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness.
• Assist the Director of Operations to review and develop policies and procedures to make the department function more effective and efficiently.
• Resolving customer and public complaints.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethic codes.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Ability 

• Valid Florida Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one
• Ability to estimate, order and price materials for work assignments
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches and schematics
• Ability to calculate amounts of materials needed and to measure materials for installation
• Ability to lift, move, stack, store and protect tools, equipment and materials
• Ability to utilize chemical materials properly and safely
• Knowledge of OSHA guidelines regarding safety
• Knowledge of lighting fixtures
• Knowledge of local/state/federal building, plumbing, installation, etc codes to perform building maintenance and repair work which will meet code requirements.
• Basic electrical principle understanding
• Basic knowledge of plumbing systems and operations
• Ability to operate equipment including heavy equipment

• Computer proficiency

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 50lbs.

• Ability to climb ladders and work at high elevations

• Ability to work in dusty conditions

• Ability to work in high noise environments

• Ability to work with chemicals

• Must be able to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time.

• Must be able to work in small spaces

• Must be able to move around campus which includes gym, turf, fields, etc.

• Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is required
