Under the general direction of the Sr. Director, IT, the Database Administrator I is responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of SQL and MySQL Databases within the organization.  Additional role requirements include planning, development and troubleshooting databases and applications which utilize databases.

Responsibilities

  • Make sure data remains consistent across databases
  • Optimization and troubleshooting database applications
  • Management/maintenance of SQL and MySQL Servers including database installation/troubleshooting
  • Management/maintenance of Applications Servers including FMS, FMS2, StrokeRESPOND, and others as assigned
  • Assist with application capacity and infrastructure planning and analysis
  • Provide Application support and problem-solving to end-users
  • Maintenance of Database backups
  • Assist with planning, analysis, configuration and testing of Failover and HA for Disaster Recovery

Knowledge, Skills & Ability

  • Knowledge, experience and Continuous Learning (as required) of the following:
    Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL Server and the Operating Systems on which they reside (setup, diagnostics, and common problem resolution)
  • FMS, FMS2, and StrokeRESPOND (optimization, diagnostics and problem resolution)
  • Application scalability and capacity planning
  • Experience with applications which utilize database infrastructure
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Collaboration and Teamwork oriented
  • Flexible and able switch to different tasks as required

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of Database maintenance experience

Working Conditions

  • Normal office environment
  • The position is susceptible to on-call rotation requirements
