Job Summary- Koa is a 501c3 non-profit organization based in Rockville, Maryland.  We are a dynamic, fun, growing company, with a passion for sports!  Our mission is “shaping kids’ lives through sports” and as such, every decision we make aligns with our mission.  We roughly have 18 full time employees and a part time staff of over 300 and looking for more all-stars. We are looking for candidates that are leaders and have a high appetite for learning and want to excel in our entrepreneurial enviroment. The Head Coach of Koa Prep is responisble for managing all aspects of our post graduate program. Including, but not limited to developing the athletes, maintain the living quarters, coaching games/practices, team excursions, driving Koa vehicles  and more. The position will be responsible for managing part time coaching staff of anywhere between 1-4 employees. 

The job is located at Koa Sports HQ- 4960 Boiling Brook Parkway Rockville, MD 20852 with travel to local gyms around the Beltway as well as traveling inside the United States for Tournaments. 

Responsibilities & Duties

- Master Koa's systems, including but not limited to: Shiftplanning/Humanity, Mindbody, Google Docs

-Effectively coach, instruct and manage 15-22 year olds in basketball

-Strictly adhere to Koa Prep's budget

-Ensure the Koa Prep house is clean at all times

-Handle sales for Koa Prep

-Manage, recruit, train and schedule all aged AAU teams

-Inventory all Koa Prep issued equipment and wearables

-Compfortably and professionally email Koa parents with Koa provided email address

-Keep Koa's basketball court and surrounding areas safe and clean, report any broken items to Director of Operations and Koa's CEO

-This position reports directly to Koa's CEO, Tony Korson

Qualifications & Skills:

-Played at least high school basketball

-Proficient use of a stopwatch

-Proficient use of a scoreboard

-Proficient communication, verbal and electronic 

-Excellent problem solver

-Be able to lift heavy bags of at least 40 pounds

-Can complete 20 pushups without stopping (in 30 seconds or less)
