POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Services Clinical Analyst is responsible to the VP, Chief Quality Officer, Lake Health and its clients for professional leadership in support of the Clinical Integration performance improvement plan via promoting effective change through data aggregation, analysis, presentation and action. Major responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to data gathering and aggregation using a variety of information technology methodologies; creating and distributing various performance improvement data/information presentations, reports, key metrics, etc; applying statistical analysis to interpret data and drive performance improvement action planning; preparing and distributing various profiles (unit, department, Physician, etc.); preparing executive level presentations; attending various quality meetings within and external to the system; tracking and communicating changes in regulatory requirements specific to quality performance improvement; tracking and communicating changes and new trends in performance improvement quality in the field (such as IHI, NQF). Major responsibilities include traveling to physician offices and meeting with Physician practices to assist and train office managers, validate data for PQRI and PCMH metrics, and perform analytics to identify practice patterns, in order to improve quality metrics, readmissions, utilization and care coordination.  While the performance of role responsibilities is focused on Physician members of the Integrated Physician Health Enterprise, the Clinical Analyst will also assist with clinical performance improvement actions, committees and opportunities for the health care system in general as needed. 

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

Must meet System's requirements for employment.

EDUCATION:    

1.             Minimum of an Associate Degree in a health care field, or Business with completed coursework in statistical and data analysis.

2.             Registered Nurse, licensed to practice in the State of Ohio is preferred; or relevant experience in a health care setting.

EXPERIENCE:

1.             Five years experience in a health care setting

2.             Critical Care or Emergency Department background preferred.

3.             Certification in related field, such as CPHQ, CAN or CCRN preferred. If not currently certified, must obtain CPHQ certification within three years of employment.

4.             Ability to critically analyze data (applying statistical techniques where applicable) for trends, patterns; draw inferences and make recommendations to improve performance. 

5.             Experience in Microsoft Office products required'

6.             Experience in root cause analysis procedures, Lean, quality techniques and action planning preferred

7.             Knowledge of inpatient nd physician practice coding, physician billing is helpful

8.             Critical thinking skills required.

9.             Must have strong organizational skills and an ability to coordinate multiple priorities and tasks.

10.           Must be self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.
