Maesa is seeking an Assistant Controller to assist the VP of Finance (and working closely with the Group CFO) in all areas of general accounting.

Core Responsibilities

  • Supervise and execute month end closing activities including:
  • Analysis, reconciliation and posting of accruals and prepaids
  • Review and reconciliation of factory deposits
  • Monthly review of capex activities and ensure capitalization of fixed assets
  • Review monthly inventory adjustments and ensure posting to proper GL accounts
  • Maintain fixed asset ledgers
  • Work closely with managers to review, analyze and update key operating budgets
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly forecasts and financial reports
  • Participate in the annual audit and ensure timely delivery of the information/data requested by the auditors
  • Review accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances
  • Support Management Team and Department heads with in-depth analysis
  • Design, implementation and execution of the internal control environment
  • Input into the monthly and weekly cash forecasting cycles
  • Continuous improvement projects to improve efficiency and reduce closing calendar
  • Ad hoc analysis supporting the VP, including with external debt and shareholders

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Management required
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years' of experience as an Assistant Controller or similar position
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial close, reporting, internal controls)
  • Well organized and ability to prioritize
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a very fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of ERP systems; experience with Epicor a plus
  • Knowledge of Anaplan a plus
  • Strong Excel skills is a must
  • Experience with CPG industry and/or manufacturing a plus
