The Assistant Director of Admissions will perform admissions functions including but not limited to new student recruitment, coordination of special events, admissions counseling and review of admissions applications. The Assistant Director will participate in all aspects of comprehensive undergraduate admissions programs to support enrollment goals specific to applications, acceptances and enrolled students.
- Responsible for all areas of territory management within assigned geographic area. Primarily responsible for the recruitment of new students.
- Build relationships with high school guidance counselors to include high school visits, phone calls, email and written correspondence. Work closely with high school guidance counselors and administrators in coordinating events and assisting students in the enrollment process.
- Visit high schools and attend college fairs to meet with prospective students and their families to promote Mansfield University and assist with the admissions process.
- Coordinate and participate in on campus recruitment programs (i.e. Visit Day, Saturday Preview, College Day, Accepted Student Day, Spend A Day, bus trips etc.)
- Maintain a steady flow of communication via email, traditional mail, social media, and phone calls with prospective students, applied students and confirmed students to support new student enrollment.
- Conduct interviews with prospective student and meet with families on a daily basis.
- Review application files for completeness; follow-up with applicants, per office procedure, when incomplete i.e.; missing essential credentials or information needed to perform evaluation
- Conduct the review and evaluation of applicants for admission to the university and render admission decision consistent with guidelines established by the Director of Admissions.
- Sit on various campus committees to remain current on all aspects of Mansfield University (academics, student life, athletics, housing, scholarship, financial aid, alumni etc.)
- Complete routine reports related to recruitment, projections, conversions, personal schedule, travel, recruitment programs and expense reports.
- Serve as the Alumni Partner, providing Admissions update for Alumni Board meetings; identify and develop opportunities for alumni partnership to assist with recruitment; Coordinate the Alumni Postcard Campaign
- Serve on various campus and community boards and committees (i.e.Youth Leader of Tomorrow, Chamber, YMCA, Kiwanis)

Assigns projects to work study students and oversees the Mountie Ambassador Program.

Travel may be mostly out-of-area and require transport of travel/event materials and require overnight stays.

- Must master attention to detail; complete multiple tasks; and interact with diverse publics in a friendly and welcoming manner.
- Must have the ability to use technology for daily work and presentations (including word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, PowerPoint); effective use of phone and other office and media equipment.

This is a permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) position. Salary is in accordance with the SCUPA Collective Bargaining Agreement for a State University Administrator 2, $48,118 annually.
